When You Reach Me goes to Hollywood

Amber Entertainment has bought film rights to Rebecca Stead’s enthralling novel When You Reach Me, winner of the 2010 Newbery Medal.

Amber’s partners have been involved in producing some of the biggest films in Hollywood, including The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Golden Compass.

When You Reach Me is an absorbing tale of teenage friendship and the complexities of growing up. When Miranda’s best friend Sal gets attacked by a stranger, he distances himself from her. But then she begins to make new friends, especially Marcus, and to receive mysterious notes from someone who seems to know her future.

It’s an intriguing puzzle with pieces that fit together in the most intricate and unexpected ways. An exciting challenge for film makers to be sure!

Congratulations Rebecca, we look forward to seeing this wonderful story transformed on the big screen.
