Ron Rash wins the prestigious Frank O'Connor Short Story Award.

Ron Rash, author of Serena, has been awarded the €35,000 Frank O'Connor Short Story Award for his collection Burning Bright. Named after the acclaimed short story writer and Cork resident, the award is the richest short story prize in the world.

Previous winners include Haruki Murakami, Miranda July and Simon Van Booy.

In March 2011, Text will publish Ron’s novel, One Foot In Eden, a gothic love story drenched in tragedy.
