In June we were absolutely rapt to learn that Richard & Judy had selected two Text novels as Great Summer Reads, on their top-rating daytime television program in the UK. Among the list of eight books were Melbourne writer Toni Jordan’s hugely popular debut novel Addition and Rebecca Miller’s The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, which Text is releasing this month. Sales of books previously championed by Richard & Judy have risen by as much as 3,000 per cent, so the selection of Toni Jordan’s novel should herald a great boost for Australian fiction in the UK.
