Kate Grenville Awarded AO in Queen’s Birthday 2018 Honours List

Congratulations to Kate Grenville on being awarded an Officer (AO) in the General Division on the Queen’s Birthday 2018 Honours List for distinguished service to the literary arts as an author, to the tertiary education sector, to professional societies, and as an advocate for the publishing industry. 

Kate Grenville is one of Australia’s most celebrated writers. Her bestselling novel The Secret River received the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, and was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and the Miles Franklin Literary Award. The Idea of Perfection won the Orange Prize. Grenville’s other novels include Sarah ThornhillThe LieutenantLilian’s StoryDark Places, Searching for the Secret River and Joan Makes History. Kate’s most recent publications are the non-fiction books One Life: My Mother’s Story and The Case Against Fragrance.

This is yet another well-deserved feather in Kate’s cap after being awarded the 2017 Australia Council Award for Lifetime Achievement in Literature.
