The Text Prize for Young Adult and Children’s Writing is an annual $10,000 prize awarded to an outstanding unpublished manuscript. Since its inception in 2008, the Text Prize has become one of the most renowned prizes for young adult and children’s writing in Australia and New Zealand. 

Published and unpublished writers of all ages are now invited to enter works of fiction or non-fiction.

SUBMISSIONS OPEN: Monday 29 January 2024

SUBMISSIONS CLOSE: Monday 26 February 2024

The winner will be announced in mid-2024 and will receive a publishing contract with Text and a $10,000 advance against royalties.
